Learning Objectives and Key Questions:

Online and blended learning expand educational opportunities and improve outcomes for a wide range of students, including students who have fallen behind. There are pockets of innovation across Colorado and the nation; however, expansion of these programs and collaboration among districts will provide more access and opportunities to students in need of alternative paths to graduation. As such, we are convening a group of education leaders from our state to learn more about the innovative online and blended learning credit recovery programs currently operating.

The goal is to identify the next steps in creating a structural network for expanding new models of credit recovery opportunities for students in the state.

Specifically, the goals of the training are to:
  • Understand the blended and online credit recovery landscape in Colorado
  • Identify how to plan and implement different solutions through new models
  • Create opportunities for aligning efforts and collaboration
  • Explore policy changes needed to eliminate constraints
  • Understand the pros and cons of different solutions
  • Provide a network of resources to serve as support on an ongoing basis.
